Central Queensland Comedy

If there’s one thing that’s hard to find in Rockhampton and Central Queensland, it’s a regular Stand-Up Comedy night with professional, International quality headline comedians. But it can be done. The acts are keen to come to CQ and there are venues willing to give it a crack. All it takes is an email or a phone call.

I’ve really loved the opportunity to bring some world class Stand Up Comedians to CQ and put on great comedy shows. Quality acts too – Chris ‘The Bloke’ Franklin came up to put on a show for the CQ Capras and we had an awesome night of laughs that was hugely enjoyed by the Capras players, staff and supporters. Chris Franklin loved it as well and kicked on with fans at the Giddy Goat after the show.

I also bought Aussie Comedy legend Hung Le to the Capras along with English Comedian Dan Willis for another Stand Up Comedy Show at the Rockhampton Leagues Club. Both the boys had a great time and enjoyed the Rockhampton hospitality. At both Capras shows we also had local Comedians jump up for short spots, which was great for them to experience performing comedy in front of big crowds, plus they get to see how the Professional Comedians go about it.

We don’t just stick to Rockhampton either. We’re willing to travel for shows and have performed at the Maraboon Tavern and the Irish Village in Emerald and the Black Nugget Hotel in Moranbah. Those are places that rarely see Stand Up Comedy, so the locals get out and get behind those shows in good numbers. Plus the comedians love a road trip and getting to parts of the country they wouldn’t normally see.

Fundraising for Movember with local comedians Chubs and Wes

A Stand Up Comedy show is also an awesome way to raise some money for a good cause, or a great night out for your local club or sports team. Think School P&C fundraiser, Footy Club Comedy Nights and loads more. It brings your people together, we all have a good laugh, and bottom line – the money rolls in. Our Movember fundraiser pulled in nearly $700 bucks, just from a little Thursday night show at the Saleyards Distillery. Plus we all had fun while we did it. You can’t go wrong with comedy.
